Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I manage 15 condos and we have 30 of these lights in our stairwells. They were installed in 1995 and this if the first time I have needed to replace one (2007). We are on the Gulf and corrosion is a problem, nothing lasts, but these lights have.
Purchased as a replacement.

If unit is mounted w/ the bases at the top, the bases crack from the heat and the unit has to be replaced because the bases are pop-riveted. Directions and unit indicate opposite mounting positions. Am hoping that mounting with bases down will improve durability. This is the second unit out of about 20 I have had to replace in 5 months. I do not know when they were originally installed.
