We use this product in our livingroom. The room is oblong shaped with the heater vent only at the far end of the room. The fireplace with our new insert is in the opposite far corner of the room. We needed more heat but did not want the constant cleaning of the fireplace. This insert is perfect. The flame looks real, it heats that side of the room and the temperature setting on the furnace was able to be lowered and still maintain a nicely comfortable room temperature. We are very pleased with this product.

I was pleasently surprised when I simply removed the unit from the box, removed the packing, placed it in the fireplace, plugged it in and turned it on. The entire process did not consume five minutes! With the heat off and the brass doors closed it looks exactly like a well laid, wood fire. With the doors open, and the heat on high it provides significant supplimental heat that does take the chill out of the early morning air. I recommend this unit to anyone who are "casual" users of their existing fireplace or to anyone who wants to add the ambiance of a fireflace to their home without spending thousands of dollars. It works exactly as advertised and is well worth the price paid. I have no complaints.

We have used this fireplace insert for about three months. No problems. It is big help on the cold morning we have been having this winter.
It is very realistic - a pleasant surprise.
Our little dog likes to sleep in front of it.
We have nothing bad to say about it.

This insert was put in an existing mantel that originally held a "gel" fireplace system. Only thing is that when I took out the firebox for the "gel" fireplace there were no longer walls to put the new insert all the way back, so it currently sits on the front edge of the mantel, so we will need to create firewalls inside the mantel to house the new insert. Other than that, I love it which of course is no fault of dimplex, just my mantel structure. So for any of you that are considering replacing your "gel" inserts with a dimplex inset be aware of this.

The flame in this product is so realistic! I have fireplaces in my rental duplex and installed the inserts in minutes. My tenants love the cozy feeling--even with the flame only. It saves on the mess of using real wood and having all the heat go up the chimney. I don't have to worry about burn marks on the carpet or smoke on the walls!

We do not use the product for heating the room, it was purchased first and foremst for its look of a real fire and its resultant room ambiance. To that end it has more met our expectations.

I purchased these for my duplex rental. The tenants love the "real flames" this product produces without all the mess of building a real fire. I appreciate there won't be any smoke damage in the units and no burn marks to worry about!

We purchased the Fireplace insert for a portable Chimney in our NC Cabin, it looks great. We have it in the basement and our renters all say that it heats well and looks real, the remote was an added bonus.

I really enjoy the fireplace insert. It is beautiful and practical. I use it as additional heating source to heat my livingroom. The blower is at the top and alot of the heat is trapped inside the fireplace hood. It would be great if the blower was on the bottom instead. Other than that, I love the insert and would purchase it again if I needed a new one.

The dimplex insert flame is so realistic. I use it every night. It adds ambiance and warmth to the room. It doesn't put out enough heat to heat a small room but if you sit by it you feel the heat. It is easy to install and I love the remote control feature.
Too bad it doesn't put out more heat to heat up the room.

This was a gift for my mother and she is loving the ambiance and is surpised at how much heat it puts out. It is giving her all the benefits of a fireplace without the negatives of a "real" fire.

I "lite" my fireplace every night. It actually is keeping my living room cozy with temps in the 30's. I know that during the summer, without heat, I'll still used it every evening.
I think delivery was slow, but when I called customer service they were kind and let me know the deliver would be later than stated.

I just received my Electric Fireplace Insert - DF12309 by Dimplex. Its a beautiful way to convert an traditional fireplace. I no longer have the mess to clean, but all the joy and beauty of a simulated fire with optional heat output. I couldn't be happier! Just turn it "on" and enjoy!

Looks real the only thing better would be crackling
First delivery was very timely
The box had a dent as did the log inset, I was able to straighten it out
A second unodered on arrived. I was sent a Fed Ex return slip, but had to drive it to the FedEx pickup which was inconvient.

Fits perfectly into our fireplace. It is exactly as advertised. A realistic flame and glow without the messy upkeep of a real fire. After much shopping around, the price was the best. I only wish I could sell these myself or at least get a kickback on them. I love love love it. I have shown it to my friends and have sold 4 more for you already and will for sure sell at least 5 more in the next month. It is just fabulous and perfect for Texas. It really never gets that cold here...at least not every year so this is picture perfect. [...] Did I say..I love it.
